It is a beautiful morning in St. Maarten and the kids are ready to get off the ship and do something different today. We had our Golden Eagle Sail booked for today and we waited with others in the queue to walk to the catamarans. The kids made friends with the family behind us. They were nice people from Virginia...Susan, Sandy, Sofie and Ryan. Paige, Chris and Teresa went snorkeling while Lindsay and I tried to swim a bit but the current was very strong at this snorkel area and we soon gave up and went back. They sailed us to the French side of the island then where we could see the beach where the planes land just feet from the beach. That was quite a sight to see and also about the time my camera died. I thought it was the battery but it is just dead so no pictures now until I can get Teresa’s and she didn’t bring her adapter…..bummer. Anyway they later took us to a beach where we could all swim and Chris took up with some older boys who decided to bury him in the sand and made him look like Spongebob. It was so hot and humid that we came directly back to the ship and went to the pool where the kids played the rest of the day and Teresa found these mats in a shaded area of the pool deck that were thick like a mattress to lounge on. The Disney Magic, Celebrity Eclipse and Grand Princess were here with us and the sun was setting when we pulled away from the dock first. It was pretty to look back and see the ships all lit up. We went to the Teppanyaki restaurant last night and the kids enjoyed it, The cook told them he was genuine Japanese from the Philippines. Chris now has the same cold Paige has and poor Paige is coughing non stop. After dinner the kids wanted to go to the Arcade to play and then Chris and Paige played ping pong or really alternately chased the ball around the deck. We stopped to get them ice cream on the way back to the cabin. The wind was also finally gone here. I am writing this while watching us sail into St. Thomas and everyone is still sleeping. It appears we will have another beautiful day in the Caribbean..more later.
