Miami 11-17-11

The kids were so excited by the time Teresa picked them up at school I think their teachers were glad they didn't have to deal with them the balance of the day.  They enjoyed the limo ride to the airport and their first class travel on Delta to Miami.  We are staying at the Marriott Biscayne Bay.  Of course the type of room I reserved was not available but they gave us access to the Concierge Lounge trying to make amends.  We are on the 24th floor with a bay view but not on the port side.  We can see the ships when we go to the Concierge Lounge.  It was warm when we arrived so we took the kids to the pool to swim and work off some excess energy then took a walk to the Doubletree next door and had dinner in a mall type area there.  We were all tired from the day and watched the "Tooth Fairy" on the family channel and went to sleep.

We woke up this morning to pouring rain.  Paige is a bit congested too so hope that isn't a bad sign.  We went to the Concierge Lounge for breakfast and were able to see the 3 ships that are in port today.  We did get to watch some interesting sights on the draw bridge to Key Biscayne when it appeared the bridge was broken and the boat traffic and car traffic was backing up while two men tried to fix it.  It did open once after they got it fixed.  The kids are at the pool in the rain working off more energy.  Susan and Kevin will be coming down soon and I guess we will need to find something to do in the rain today because it doesn't appear to be clearing up.  More later.

  2. Hey it's been windy here too but that's a good thing as it's been blowing my leaves to my neighbor's yard. What is recess? I seem to remember that room key card and the lights or maybe that was in a Hotel. I loved your glowing review of the ship where the most positive thing was there were a lot of public bathrooms. Pretty funny!! Anyway in spite of the wind it seems like you guys are doing a. lot of fun things and having a great. Time which is good. I think we are also scheduled for St Maartens on our cruise so I will be interested to see how you like it. Great pictures. And descriptions.
